Summary

The game began with all players establishing early board presence and mana ramp, with Yuriko leveraging ninjutsu and card reveals to drain opponents and build hand advantage. Braids utilized sacrifice synergies to generate card draw and incremental life drains, while Sheoldred pressured opponents by punishing their card draws and generating life gain for himself. Kaalia of the Vast started cheating out powerful Angels and Demons through combat damage, quickly escalating the board state with impactful creatures like Lyra Dawnbringer. A key turning point occurred when Braids cast Massacre Wyrm, shrinking opposing creatures and triggering multiple Falconroth Noble drains, significantly affecting opponents' life totals. However, the Massacre Wyrm was exiled by Kyle's response with Deadly Relic, which also weakened Braids’ devotion-based plays. Kaalia’s aggressive angel and demon deployment pressured opponents heavily, eventually knocking Sheoldred out of the game. Yuriko continued generating card advantage and incremental drains through repeated ninjutsu triggers and creatures like Grim Hireling, maintaining board control and treasure token generation. Braids attempted to regain control with Plaguecrafter forcing sacrifices, and Animate Dead to reuse Gray Merchant of Asphodel for a potent life swing, though opponents actively disrupted these plays. Life totals were precariously low, with Kyle at 4 and J-man at 15, indicating the game was heading towards a finish driven by heavy attrition, sacrifice synergies, and combat damage from powerful angels and ninjas. The game demonstrated intense interplay between sacrifice and card advantage mechanics, with moments of board wipes and targeted removal shaping the flow toward a decisive conclusion.

Hello everyone! It’s Mostly Casual Commander with another fun game of #EDH for you. I’ve been growing more fond of Mono Black decks recently, for some reasons, so Busterkins and I decided to run recent black decks we made! Kyle’s favorite deck: Yuriko, the Tiger’s shadow, made an appearance and J man’s angel focused Kaalia deck puts in work. Let us know what you think in the comments, thanks!
