Summary

The game began with typical ramp and token generation strategies, with players developing their boards cautiously. Early turns saw the deployment of mana accelerants, token generators, and utility creatures such as Goblin Welder, Mentor of the Meek, and Armillary Sphere. The board state escalated quickly as Eric, playing a Tana and Ravos deck, established a strong token army using Tana's ability alongside Impact Tremors and other synergies, creating a formidable presence that pressured opponents heavily. Sed, piloting Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded, leveraged sneaky plays like Sneak Attack with Zealous Conscripts to steal and reuse other commanders, swinging combat phases aggressively. Liz, on Neheb, the Eternal, built up burn potential and artifact synergies, including a Furnace of Wrath and later a Sword of War and Peace to amplify damage output. However, a critical moment occurred when Liz cast a massive Earthquake for 11 damage, wiping most of the board and delivering a lethal blow to one player while severely damaging others. Following this board wipe, Eric's token swarm and consistent damage triggers from Impact Tremors and Brutal Horde Chief maintained pressure, while Sed struggled to recover with Ilharg, the Raze-Boar, and other threats. The game showcased dynamic swings driven by token armies, board wipes, and commanders’ combat damage triggers leading to lethal plays from both Liz and Eric’s decks.
