The game began with players ramping and setting up their board states.
Sam, piloting the Frodo and Sam deck, focused on generating a variety of tokens (food, treasure, and clue) thanks to the Academy Manufacturer and Sam's own ability.
John, commanding an elf-centric deck led by Galadriel, generated a swarm of beefed-up elves.
