Matt's Animar, Soul of Elements deck was all about casting powerful creatures and using Animar to cheat on casting costs. Seth's borderless Najeela, the Blade-Blossom deck was filled with shiny warrior cards for attacking opponents. Lastly, Sam's Negan, the Cold Blooded deck focused on forcing opponents to sacrifice creatures to generate value and set up wins. As the game progressed, a series of sacrifices and dramatic shifts in the board state kept the tension high. Sam's use of mass sacrifice effects kept the board state under control, while Chandler's life gain strategy with Sanguine Bond threatened to end the game.
