  • Sydri, Galvanic Genius

    Sydri, Galvanic Genius

An artifact combo deck centered around generating thopter tokens using Sword of the Meek and Thopter Foundry, supported by tutors and artifact synergies for value and board presence.

  • Rakdos, Lord of Riots

    Rakdos, Lord of Riots

A ramp and aggressive damage deck that uses fast mana acceleration to cast huge creatures early, then leverages life drain and damage effects like Grey Merchant of Asphodel to close out the game.

Gameplay Insights

  • 1

Adam’s Rakdos deck dominated early with massive mana ramp and card draw from Necrotons and Abyssal Persecutor, establishing strong board control that was never effectively challenged.

  • 2

The Phenax player’s attempt to slow the game with creatures like Sun Titan and Solemn Simulacrum was hampered by insufficient interaction and missing an opportunity to steal Grey Merchant of Asphodel from Adam.

  • 3

Yidris’s cascade combos provided moments of value but failed to disrupt Adam’s rapid development or present a lethal threat, especially with the misplay involving the timing of Consuming Aberration’s cascade trigger.

  • 4

Sydri’s artifact combo strategy was slow to assemble, resulting in minimal impact before Adam’s overwhelming damage output forced an early conclusion to the game.

  • 5

The game ended with Adam casting Living Death, which wiped the board including his own Abyssal Persecutor, but by then his advantage was insurmountable, securing the win despite some board resets.

Summary

The game featured a fast-paced and high-impact multiplayer Commander match with four different decks led by Phenax, God of Deception; Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder; Sydri, Galvanic Genius; and Rakdos, Lord of Riots. Early on, Adam, piloting the Rakdos deck, rapidly ramped mana and established a strong board presence with cards like Necrotons and Abyssal Persecutor, drawing significant cards and dealing consistent damage. His ability to generate large amounts of mana and repeatedly draw cards gave him a dominant advantage. Meanwhile, the Phenax player focused on controlling the board and attempting to stall, using creatures like Solemn Simulacrum and Sun Titan to maintain presence and interaction. DJ’s Yidris deck tried to capitalize on cascade effects and equipment, notably with Consuming Aberration and Sword of Feast and Famine, but was unable to keep pace with the explosive Rakdos plays. Enkidu’s Sydri deck showed potential with combos involving Sword of the Meek and Thopter Foundry but was hindered by slow ramp and limited board development.
