The Commander Tavern
Greetings, everyone! Welcome to The Commander Tavern! I am Demented Kirby and this is the 18th episode of one of the series on this channel, The Brewery. This series is all about brewing and deck techs - hopefully showcasing the spiciest of brews!
In this episode of The Brewery I present my take on Grumgully, the Generous. Out of all the potential ways to build around Grumgully, I decided to go the midrange route. Creating tons of creature tokens for attack, defense, and value. The deck also abuses Grumgully’s +1/+1 counter ability by included every possible creature with persist in order to go infinite. This provides an automatic wincon with cards like Altar of Dementia, Impact Tremors, and Purphoros, God of the Forge. If you want to easily see the deck list and its stats, here’s the link: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/grumgully-the-generous-1/?cb=1568587912
It’s important to note that some playgroups frown upon infinite combos. If that’s the case, you don’t need to go infinite. The cards in the deck work well on their own without having to take anything out. Just don’t go infinite when you have all the pertinent combo pieces at your disposal.
If you want a more in-depth explanation as to how to abuse the stack with persist creatures, you can check out my Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest video here: https://youtu.be/RqpW9Yvhw5Y
As always, thanks to all you viewers for your interest! This video was suggested by a couple of YouTube viewers, so thanks for your interest and attention to my channel.
