Deck Strategies
Ruhan of the Fomori
Voltron strategy aiming to attach equipment to Ruhan and attack with a single, powerful creature. Removal spells are used to eliminate obstacles.
Neheb, the Worthy
Discard strategy focusing on making opponents discard cards and using their graveyards in interesting ways.
Sygg, River Guide
Voltron strategy utilizing Merfolk tribal synergies. The deck can give itself or other Merfolk protection from any color, effectively creating indestructible blockers.
Athreos, God of Passage
Built around Shadowborn Apostles, aiming to get many Apostles in play, turn them into demons, and cycle through as many apostles as possible to build a large board state.
Gameplay Insights
- 1
Wedge's early ramp and equipping of Swiftfoot Boots on Ruhan set him up for strong early-game aggression.
- 2
Josh's Athreos deck relied heavily on cycling Shadowborn Apostles to build up his board state, with Athreos providing potential value from any creatures that died.
- 3
The Professor's Sygg deck appeared to have a robust defense against potential attacks, with the ability to give Merfolk protection from any color.

Summary
The game kicked off with each player showcasing their commander and laying out their initial strategies. Wedge went for a Voltron approach with Ruhan of the Fomori, while Jimmy opted for a discard strategy with Neheb, the Worthy. Meanwhile, Josh showcased an Athreos, God of Passage deck built around Shadowborn Apostles, aiming to create a strong board state through cycling apostles. The Professor played a Voltron strategy as well, featuring Sygg, River Guide and a Merfolk tribal theme. The game was defined by the early establishment of powerful mana bases, with Wedge ramping out Ruhan and equipping Swiftfoot Boots as early as turn 3. Despite these strong starts, the game's outcome is unknown based on the available information.
