Gameplay Insights

  • 1

Raffine's use of Gilded Drake to steal opposing creatures was a key disruptive tactic that shifted board control.

  • 2

The board-wide Silence cast by one player effectively stalled spellcasting and forced players to rely on board presence and combat.

  • 3

Multiple counters and interaction such as Flusterstorm and Dovin's Veto were used to maintain control over critical spells and protect key plays.

  • 4

Players leveraged draw and discard synergies, particularly with Raffine and Tymna, to maintain card advantage despite heavy interaction.

  • 5

Ledger Shredder was used as a recurring card advantage engine, growing larger with each discard and drawing cards upon death triggers.

  • 6

Crypt Rats and similar mass damage effects posed a constant threat, influencing players' life totals and resource management.

  • 7

Players carefully managed mana resources using cards like Bloom Tender and mana confluences to enable multiple spells and responses in a turn.

  • 8

The presence of multiple combo and value engines required constant vigilance and adaptation from all players, highlighting the high complexity of cEDH gameplay.

Summary

The game featured a highly interactive and competitive four-player cEDH pod with Raffine, Scheming Seer, Birgi, God of Storytelling, Tymna the Weaver paired with Thrasios, Triton Hero, and Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator paired with Tana, the Bloodsower. Early turns were marked by efficient ramp and card advantage, with players establishing board presence and securing key resources. Raffine used her ability to draw cards and disrupt opponents by forcing discards and selectively stealing creatures like Gilded Drake. Meanwhile, Tymna and Thrasios focused on generating incremental value through card draw and mana acceleration, casting spells like Sylvan Library and exploiting synergy with creatures. The other players also prepared combos and maintained interaction to stall or disrupt opponents. The game saw several pivotal moments including a board-wide silence that temporarily halted spell casting, multiple counters and responses to keep threats in check, and aggressive attacks primarily from Raffine and Tymna/Thrasios to chip away at opponents' life totals. Despite intense interaction, Raffine leveraged card advantage engines and combat triggers to maintain pressure. The gameplay highlighted the high skill and interaction typical of cEDH, with players balancing offense, defense, and resource management to push toward a win condition that likely revolved around Raffine's incremental card advantage combined with combat damage and disruption.

Description

You could say this game was months in the making since I tried to get a pod together with someone from Pass Priority for what seems forever. As I said in episode 1, more cool guests more content creators…the whole 9 awesome yards.
