Gameplay Summary
The game featured four powerful cEDH decks: Thrasios/Vial Smasher, Oona, Kess, Dissident Mage, and Tymna/Thrasios.
Early turns involved standard ramp and setup plays, with each player developing mana and casting key pieces like Grim Monolith, Tezzeret the Seeker, and Oona.
The first major turning point occurred when Don, piloting Kess, executed a double Time Twister sequence combined with Lion's Eye Diamond to refuel his hand and deck multiple times, enabling him to cast Kess and flashback another Time Twister.
This disruption reshaped the game state and refreshed resources.
Dylan’s Oona deck attempted to establish board presence with faeries and mill threats, but was repeatedly challenged by counterspells and land destruction. The pivotal moment came when Ryan, on Thrasios/Vial Smasher, navigated through the opponents' interference to assemble the Worldgorger Dragon combo.
After fetching the combo pieces with Final Parting and protecting his Dance of the Dead with Force of Will, Ryan initiated an infinite mana loop by flickering Worldgorger Dragon with his reanimation effects.
Utilizing this infinite mana, he activated Thrasios to draw his entire deck and secured Comet Storm to finish the game, showcasing a classic infinite mana burn-out win condition.
Throughout the game, counterspells, resource denial, and careful sequencing defined the interactions, with Ryan ultimately capitalizing on the combo to close out the match.
