Maldhound Plays w/ the WORST DECKS EVER

The game began with four players piloting intentionally suboptimal decks, each built around commanders whose abilities were largely ignored or crippled.

Vivi Ornitier's deck aimed to generate mana and cast inefficient blue and red creatures, ignoring much of Vivi's text to create a 'stompy' style deck.

Bruvac the Grandiloquent focused on a slow mill strategy, doubling the number of cards milled from each mill effect and aiming for a long-term lab man combo.

Edgar Markov's deck was ironically elf-heavy with no vampires, thus negating his commander’s vampire synergy, while Tatyova, Benthic Druid was played with no lands at all, relying on nonbasic lands and ramp spells but unable to fully utilize her landfall abilities. Early turns were slow, with players struggling to establish board presence due to the handicaps each deck suffered.

Bruvac steadily milled cards but lacked the acceleration to end the game quickly, while Vivi managed some mana ramp and cast a few creatures.

Tatyova’s player attempted to function without a traditional mana base, relying on cards like Prismatic Vista and nonbasic lands, but the lack of lands made it very difficult to capitalize on her ramp and card draw abilities.

Edgar’s elf deck generated some mana but missed synergy with its commander.

A pivotal moment came when Vivi sacrificed lands to play Lotus Field and then used Thespian's Stage to copy it, setting up a powerful mana engine.

Despite the decks' limitations, the players managed to develop their boards and interact, leading to a surprisingly engaging game. The win condition was not fully realized in the early game, as most players were focused on ramping and setting up their unique but flawed strategies.

Bruvac aimed to mill players out eventually, Vivi sought to leverage her mana production into overwhelming board presence, while Tatyova and Edgar tried to stabilize with what little synergy their decks retained.

The game showcased how unconventional deckbuilding and ignoring key parts of commanders’ text can lead to slow but interesting interactions, with players adapting their strategies to overcome inherent weaknesses.
