Unsanctioned | un-EDH Set Analysis - A Flight [S01E07]

Greetings, everyone! Welcome to The Commander Tavern! I am Demented Kirby and this is the 7th episode of one of the series on this channel, A Flight. This series samples the cards from a newly released set and are analyzed for their usefulness in the commander format.

I know these cards aren’t legal in any format - especially commander. But, silver-bordered cards have been unbanned in commander before, especially from Dec.1-Jan.15 when Unstable was released. Additionally, many people and playgroups build Un-mander decks where it’s just commander with silver-bordered cards. Some players also mix silver-bordered cards in with black-bordered cards with prior notice to their pod. Personally, I’ve always loved silver-bordered cards - especially Unstable cards, and I’ve brewed a bunch of EDH decks in Cockatrice and I had tons of fun during that 6-week period. Hopefully, these new commanders add more dimensions and variability to these types of games since they’re all legendary creatures, similar to what happened with Grimlock, Dinobot Leader.
