The game started slowly with players taking turns to lay their land cards and build their manabases. Eliot, playing The Pride of Hull Clade, managed to get an early advantage by playing Tree of Redemption and using his commander's ability to potentially draw large amounts of cards. Aaron, with Delney, Streetwise Lookout, focused on building a board presence with small creatures and leveraging Delney's ability to double triggers. Jan, running Melek, Reforged Researcher, focused on pulling spells into his graveyard to power up Melek's stats.
