The game started with a control-focused approach, with players setting up their boards and the Hinata, Dawn-Crowned player emphasising the importance of interaction and protection spells. Scarab God player had a strong presence early on, drawing extra cards with Rhystic Study and setting up for future plays with Kindred Discovery. Kambal, Consul of Allocation player managed to get their commander down and started to gain some life, while the Nebuchadnezzar player played a bit more subtly, using Glasses of Urza to keep a close eye on the other players' hands.
