Summary
The game began with all players setting up their board states and ramping their mana. Notably, Jimmy Wong with his Pako/Haldan deck and Leonard Williams with his Ur-Dragon deck both started strong. Brian Kibler's Gitrog deck threw a wrench in the plans when he played a topiary stomper, ramping his mana. Olivia Gobert-Hicks, running the Breya deck, responded by playing a Phyrexian Metamorph, copying the stomper. Jimmy Wong then took a decisive turn, using Ancient Tomb and Force of Vigor to destroy key enchantments, Ristic Study and Esper Sentinel, which were drawing cards for Olivia and Brian. Leonard Williams then made his move, using his mana advantage to play a decadent dragon.
