Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale | Knight Tribal - The Brewery [S01E15]

Greetings, everyone! Welcome to The Commander Tavern! I am Demented Kirby and this is the 15th episode of one of the series on this channel, The Brewery. This series is all about brewing and deck techs - hopefully showcasing the spiciest of brews!

In this episode of The Brewery I present my take on Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale. This brew is a knight tribal deck relying heavily on equipment and tokens themes. This video explains how I plan to build the deck and why I chose the cards I did. The main strategy is to get both quantity and quality of knights in order to go into the red zone and take advantage of Syr Gwyn’s triggered abilities. The equipment and other support strategies help further the aggro nature of the deck. Knight tribal isn’t that common in commander. It’s not obscure but it certainly isn’t up there with merfolk, humans, zombies, angels, soldiers, goblins, etc. This was definitely fun to brew since it requires a balance of having good and plentiful knights as well as having the equipment to make it worth it, plus having the support needed to overcome tribal/creature dependent strategies.
