Yuriko's player used Insidious Dreams at the perfect moment during combat to stack a lethal sequence of cards on top of his library, maximizing Yuriko's damage triggers for a game-ending combo.

  • 2

Windgrace's Dockside Extortionist created a significant treasure advantage early but was unable to capitalize due to disruption and Yuriko's aggressive ninja damage.

Tovolar's werewolf tribal synergy was enhanced by anthem effects and mana dorks, but the deck's aggression was ultimately insufficient to prevent Yuriko's lethal combo.

Summary

The game began with a slow setup phase where each player developed their board according to their deck's theme. Windgrace focused on ramping with lands and treasures, gaining board presence with creatures like Dockside Extortionist and Tireless Tracker. Tovolar built a werewolf tribal board, using mana dorks and anthem effects such as Full Moon's Rise and Great Henge to pump his creatures. Yuriko manipulated the top of the library and dealt incremental damage through ninjutsu triggers, revealing cards to drain opponents' life. Prosper aimed to leverage treasure generation and exile effects but was disrupted early by Yuriko's counterplay. The turning point came when Yuriko's pilot, Kyle, utilized Insidious Dreams to stack powerful cards on top of his library, enabling a lethal combo with Yuriko's ability. He cast multiple spells in combat, triggering Yuriko's damage-dealing effect repeatedly and revealing a devastating sequence of cards including Draco, Temporal Trespass, and Rags to Riches. This combo dealt massive life loss to all opponents, ending the game decisively in Kyle's favor before Prosper and Windgrace could establish their midgame dominance.
