Slicer’s use of artifact mana acceleration and protection spells allowed fast early development but was slowed down by Jeska/Tymna’s lockdown with Blind Obedience.

  • 2

Dargo’s treasure generation and sacrifice combos created significant pressure, forcing opponents to respond quickly or lose key resources.

  • 3

The game featured a pivotal moment where Demonic Consultation was copied to exile all one-mana cards, disrupting opponents’ tutoring and combo setup.

  • 4

Players leveraged treasure tokens extensively to cast multiple spells and activate combos in a single turn, highlighting the importance of resource generation in cEDH.

Summary

The game started with all players setting up their mana bases and early board presence, with Slicer quickly establishing ramp and artifact synergy. Early plays included Ragavan, Monkey Familiar, and Silver Safekeeper to protect key pieces. Malcolm/Tana quickly deployed aggressive creatures and disruption, while Tymna/Dargo focused on artifact synergies and value engines like Dockside Extortionist and Altar of Dementia. Jeska/Tymna used efficient creatures and removal to control the board, including Blind Obedience to lock down opponents. A major turning point came when Dargo sacrificed treasures to cast powerful spells and trigger combos, heavily pressuring Slicer and other opponents. The game saw multiple instances of treasure token generation, artifact recursion, and tutoring to assemble combo pieces. Slicer leveraged a mix of fast mana, artifact synergies, and aggressive damage from his commander to keep pace but faced challenges from the lockdown and combo potential of the other decks. The match ended quickly after a series of impactful combat phases and combo activations, demonstrating the high speed and interaction typical of cEDH.
