Deck & Commander Strategies

  • Breya, Etherium Shaper

    Breya, Etherium Shaper

A four-color artifact-centric deck combining control elements with artifact synergies. Breya aims to control the board through removal and disruption while leveraging artifact combos to generate incremental advantage and finish the game.

  • Lumra, Bellow of the Woods

    Lumra, Bellow of the Woods

A combo deck focused on land recursion and mana acceleration. Lumra uses cards like Amulet of Vigor, Zuran Orb, and Shifting Woodland to create infinite mana loops, producing multiple Earthbending creatures or dealing infinite damage through triggered abilities.

Gameplay Insights

  • 1

Lumra’s early ramp with Exploration and Amulet of Vigor set up a fast infinite mana loop that was difficult for Breya to disrupt effectively.

  • 2

Breya’s exile of key lands slowed the combo but was insufficient to prevent Lumra from assembling the infinite loop.

  • 3

Using Mirrorpool to create a token copy of Lumra allowed for repeated land recursion triggers, facilitating the infinite combo.

  • 4

The infinite combo could be used flexibly either to generate overwhelming board presence or to deal infinite damage via Sunscorch Desert triggers.

  • 5

Breya’s player took notes during gameplay to better understand Lumra’s 99 and refine sideboarding or strategy for future games.

Gameplay Summary

The game featured a clash between a combo-oriented Lumra deck and a more controlling, artifact-synergistic Breya deck.

Lumra started aggressively with a turn one Exploration and quickly ramped into its combo pieces, including Amulet of Vigor and Zuran Orb, assembling an infinite mana loop involving land recursion and token creation.

This enabled Lumra to either generate massive board presence with Earthbending creatures or leverage damage combos, such as looping Sunscorch Desert for infinite damage.

Breya attempted to disrupt this fast start by exiling key lands and controlling the board, but the speed and resilience of Lumra's combo proved challenging to contain.

The game culminated in Lumra executing its infinite combo line, overwhelming Breya’s defenses and winning through infinite damage or overwhelming board state.
